Oh Boy!

Velvet today gave birth to her second calf, a healthy bull calf.

Dexters are such easy birthers. We knew she was due soon, but just like last time we didn’t know how imminent the event was until I got home from the feed store and saw her cleaning the calf. As is the tradition, this one will be named V2M1, translated as Velvet’s 2nd calf, first male.

Next up will be Rosie, some time this week, we expect.
